Château de Villette is one of the most exceptional shooting venues - a private Château set in the most beautiful countryside in Burgundy paired with the comfort of a family home and most charming hosts with exquisite style and taste.
The shooting has over the years - with the help of an Irish game-keeper - been developed from a family rough shooting estate to a distinctive shoot for mixed bag of driven pheasant, partridge and duck with great variety in presentations utilizing the spectacular castle grounds, all drives within walking distance from the Château.
At Château de Villette it is customary to shoot either single or double gun – a team of experienced loaders is available if requested! The shooting is "low-key” / family style … mixed bag of Driven Partridge, Pheasant and Duck … very well presented birds (Irish game-keeper) … typically 250 bird days.
On a typical day ... breakfast - assemble at the gun-room - walk to the first two drives - come back for elevenses - walk to drives 3 and 4 - come back for (delicious) lunch - walk to drive 5 - walk back to the house for tea/drinks - relax – before a delicious dinner with Grand Cru wines - heavenly !! Non-shooting guests can explore Burgundy, join the guns in the field at any time, take walks or relax at the Château ...
Chateau de Villette is located 30 miles west of Beaune in the spectacular Natural Parc of Morvan very close to a number of world renown Burgundy vineyards … you can get there either by car or via TGV from Paris or Lyon. The closest private airport is Yan it is appr. 1 hr. south by car. St. Château de Villette is an absolute paradise - the countryside, the house featuring most comfortable accommodation for 8 couples, exquisite cuisine and Grand Cru wines … all shooting takes place around the Chateau at walking distance - if you so choose so, you literally will only walk to and from the drives !
